William and Ann Duerden

William was born at Spring House on 8th Feb 1849 - he was the son of William Duerden born 1807 and his first wife Jane Hitchon. Sadly Jane died and was buried at St Peter's Burnley on 13th Feb 1849. Father William re-married on 6th April 1849 Ann Stansfield and together they had more family. William himself married three times - firstly to Grace Holden on 1/9/1870 - her family were running the Hare and Hounds at the time of the marriage. William had his family with Grace - she died after the birth of their daughter Grace, he then married Sarah Harker in 1880 she was from Higher House they brought up the family together and then in 1896 he married Ann Kilburn with whom he is pictured.
